Our Trust Values

I would like to wish you a warm welcome to The Hub School. The Hub School is part of The Education Alliance (TEAL), currently consisting of South Hunsley School and Sixth Form College, Malet Lambert School, The Snaith School, Driffield School and Sixth Form, Hunsley Primary School, North Cave CofE Primary School, Howden Junior School, Naburn CofE Primary School, Howden CofE Infant School, Wilberfoss CofE Primary School, Beverley Minster CofE Primary School and Yorkshire Wolds Teacher Training.  We are here to make great schools and happier, stronger communities so that people have better lives.  We do this by always doing what is right, trusting each other, standing shoulder to shoulder and doing what we know makes the difference.  Doing what is right means always acting with integrity, in the interests of others and being honest, open and transparent.

The Education Alliance

Our Vision

At The Hub School, we provide specialist support for students with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. Our vision is to improve the life chances of young people for whom mainstream education has not, so far, been successful.

We offer an alternative educational experience built on nurture, structure and consistency, where every child is understood, respected, and supported to thrive. Our skilled and experienced staff team work collaboratively to provide a safe, inclusive and relationship-centred environment, where pupils feel a genuine sense of belonging and are encouraged to re-engage with learning.

Through a personalised and ambitious approach, we support our pupils to develop both academically and socially, accelerating progress in key areas while building resilience, confidence, and a strong sense of self.

Our academic curriculum is underpinned by four core pillars: Creativity, Life Skills, Culture, and Discovery, which offer rich and varied learning experiences. Alongside this, our Personal Development curriculum supports students to thrive emotionally and socially, embedding key competencies in:

  • Self-Awareness
  • Social Awareness
  • Relationship Skills
  • Self-Management
  • Decision-Making

At the heart of our school is a deep belief in the power of relationships. Relational practice shapes our teaching, support systems, and everyday routines—fostering trust, connection and positive behaviour, while creating a strong sense of community and care.

The Hub School

Aims

At The Hub School, we recognise that every pupil brings their own unique strengths, experiences, and potential. Our aim is to provide a personalised, supportive and relational approach to education that allows each young person to thrive—both now and in the future.

We understand that many of our learners have faced significant barriers in their educational journey. Through compassion, consistency and high expectations, we aim to break down those barriers and create opportunities for success.

We aim to:

  • Build strong, trusting relationships with all pupils through a consistent relational approach, helping them feel safe, valued and understood.
  • Support each learner’s individual needs, using a variety of strategies and interventions that promote both academic and emotional growth.
  • Deliver a broad and balanced curriculum that encourages curiosity, independence, and achievement across all areas of learning.
  • Promote social and emotional wellbeing through a rich and varied Personal Development curriculum, tailored to support life skills, resilience, and healthy relationships.
  • Create exciting, memorable learning experiences that broaden horizons and raise aspirations.
  • Help students re-engage with education, rebuild their confidence, and realise their full potential—academically, socially, and personally.
  • Prepare young people for life beyond school, equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and mindset needed for further education, employment, and meaningful futures.
