Our Vocational Pathway team work with a range of different education providers across the county and beyond, to create a bespoke education package for Key Stage 4 students who require an alternative curriculum offer to that which a typical mainstream school may be able to offer.
This curriculum may be a combination of (but not limited to) English, Maths, Vocational Qualifications and Personal Development. The aim of this curriculum is to equip students with experiences, skills and knowledge, including qualifications, which prepare students for the next stage at Post 16.
Our curriculum aims to support students so that they can achieve and gain qualifications in their chosen vocational area and is delivered in a variety of different settings.
Each setting offers a range of qualifications relating to the specific vocational areas that they provide, which include construction, motor vehicle maintenance, hair & beauty, health & social care, sport, animal care and personal development. Students will also be expected to complete functional skills qualifications in English and Maths, ranging from Entry Level to Level 2. To facilitate a broad and balanced curriculum, it is often necessary for students to attend two different placements throughout the week.
